THE EVOLUTION OF ST CROIX CLEANERS
St Croix Cleaners was established in 1960 by Bill and Jean Clemmings, with just one store in Stillwater, Minnesota and a single dry cleaning machine that was a self-service, coin-operated machine in the Laundromat.
In 2001, Dave and Polly Nemec bought the business with two stores in the Stillwater area.
Since, the Nemec’s have grown the business, now encompassing the entire Twin Cities Metro Area.
In 2008, St Croix Cleaners opened a specialty cleaning division, Treasured Garment Restoration which focuses on vintage restoration, bridal gowns, theater costumes and more. They have become nationally renowned for their specialty cleaning, receiving vintage garments from places as far away as London, Boston and California.
In 2017, St Croix Linen was established as yet, another division of St Croix Cleaners; offering commercial linen service to restaurants, hotels, airlines, medical clinics, gyms, spas and other businesses in the Minneapolis-St Paul metro area.
Currently, St Croix Cleaners continues to be a family-owned and operated, earth-friendly dry cleaner.
With 12 Locations and offering over a dozen different services, St Croix Cleaners is truly a full service dry cleaner and leader of the industry.
